Laboratory of AR/VR/MR

About

The AR/VR Lab of the Architecture and Regional Planning Department serves as an immersive learning and research environment that supports advanced visualisation, simulation, spatial analysis and evidence-based planning.

Its primary focus is to strengthen the culture of experiential learning by bridging digital tools with real-world spatial challenges.

The lab remains open 24X7, 365 days has a geriatric simulation kit, haptic suit, VR headsets, LiDAR scanning systems and high-end digital drawing interfaces. These tools support inclusive and age-sensitive design, human-centered spatial evaluation, accurate site documentation and real-time visualisation of design proposals.

Through virtual walkthroughs, tactile feedback and spatial simulations, students can test design ideas, assess accessibility and understand the impact of planning decisions before physical realisation.

The AR/VR Lab is staffed with technical support, mentoring and guidance to students and faculty. Safety, accessibility and ethical use of immersive technologies remain central to all activities. By integrating advanced digital tools into architectural and planning education, the lab empowers students to critically engage in innovation through technology-driven design research.
